If exploiting captive dolphins with their Dolphin Quest exhibit wasn't enough, a few days ago, Kahala Resort released an announcement that they would be serving shark fin soup at an upcoming event at their Plumeria Beach House Restaurant. It's not clear whether they forgot it's been illegal in the state of Hawai’i since 2010 or where they were sourcing the fins.

The resort has since claimed that the announcement was an error although many were quick to point out it's unlikely "shark fin soup" was a typo. With an upcoming Kahala Resort opening in Yokohama, Japan, where shark fin soup is still legal, we're calling on the business to announce a pledge to not use shark products at any of their restaurants or resorts.

Please contact @Kahala_Resort and encourage them to make their business shark-free!
